IREST WORKSHOP EXPERIENCE

We designed this workshop just for you. There are limited spots available so please do not wait to purchase your ticket.

This will be a 2 hour Stress-busting Yoga Nidra workshop led by Amy Charlton LMT (Unwind Bodyworks) and Megan Smidt CLC (Your Coach Meg).

For part of the time, you will get expert guidance from Meg in HOW to align your life in order to manage stress well. Then, Amy will guide us through iRest, which is a 10-step protocol that allows you to relax, yet remain alert and aware of your surroundings.

This integrative restoration, or iRest Yoga Nidra Meditation, is a modern-day secular adaption of the ancient meditative practice of Yoga Nidra. It was developed by Richard Miller PhD. It’s a form of self-inquiry that research shows can effectively reduce PTSD, depression, anxiety, and chemical dependency. It does this while increasing health, resiliency, and well-being.  iRest Meditation provides us with guidelines for going beyond our self-limiting beliefs and conditioning.  Its practice allows us to break free of restrictive patterns. 

As mentioned, iRest is a form of self-inquiry.  It’s a living meditation that, with practice, can be used at any time.  It has changed Amy’s own chronic pain and anxiety and she can’t wait to have this time with you, guiding you through it.

This workshop provides you with the tools to:

  • Systematically reduce physical, emotional, and mental pain/contraction and cultivate the opposite such as joy, disconnectedness, inner trust, guidance/flow.

  • Discover and embody a sense of inner peace and joyful curiosity that is always present and available regardless of your life circumstances.

  • Ease the suffering encountered in day to day existence by reducing stress and anxiety, improving sleep, and easing chronic pain.

  • Resolve personal issues and develop new skills for easier, fun and more fulfilling relationships.

This is practiced either sitting standing or lying down.

  • Yoga means: Union with your innate well-being and freedom from suffering * Nidra means: Across all states of consciousness, waking and sleeping. We want you to be comfortable, so please dress accordingly for 2 hours of non-activity. Please bring a yoga mat or comfy blanket to rest on the floor. We will have a few extras available if needed.
