BURNOUT is a state of chronic stress that leads to: physical and emotional exhaustion, cynicism and detachment, [and] feelings of ineffectiveness and lack of accomplishment.
Oh friend…. Lets read that again:
physical and emotional exhaustion
cynicism and detachment
feelings of ineffectiveness and lack of accomplishment.
No one wants to feel that way… am I right?
But that is exactly how I found myself feeling a few years ago…. Can you relate?
I can 100% tell you that I burned out because I was trying to do too much all at once.
I’m just like you, friend… I spend my days juggling a family, special needs dogs, friends, volunteer work, weekly video broadcast, leading workshops, content creation, a full schedule of client work, managing the rest of my business, and trying to maintain a social life.
ALL THE THINGS…. and most days it can be a really big challenge to keep all of my balls in the air.
It used to be common for me to find myself feeling:
Out of control
Like a failure to everyone (clients, friends, family, myself)
It was awful.
I finally had to acknowledge the truth:
I was burned out, and I knew needed to break the never ending cycle of burnout-recovery-burnout if I was going to have to make a real change.
